Style: Poetry
Statement: Learning to accept change, but still bring parts with you.
Hide away with me
In our little pocket of time
Glimpsing through our fingers
Sunlight streaming in
The world set aglow
Grass sweeping the floor
Strong man's soft daughter
Tip-taps of rain on the roof
Warm sheets fresh from the dryer
Folds I can crumble into
Without checking the weather
Chasing precious, fleeting feelings
Breathe them all, in and out
Yes and no, maybe so
Settle in my chest cozily
A nest for you to
Be comforted by
See me where the sun sets
Feeling too much like home
Streets are the same
Tender eyes that can only touch
For just this moment
Like a mistaken pen marking
Come back when I'm big and strong
Living what's left of the American dream
But maybe a whisper in my ear,
Simple mornings that mute the world,
Happiness with the right one,
And enough loving to fill my heart with,
Come and follow me down the road
