Style: Collage.
Statement: This piece is a collage made with different pieces of construction paper, red Washi tape, ink, and color pencil. In the piece, there is a map, outlined with gold, that is a topographical map of the Silicon Valley, pieces of silicon rock, rendered in with color pencil, and a computer chip, made with ink, that uses silicon in it. I wanted to explore the different applications of silicon as an abstract idea, like concept of the "silicon valley", and also as a physical object.
